Kybella

Kybella in Atlanta, GA

Kybella™ was designed to reduce or completely eliminate the fat that accumulates just below the chin. This treatment is also an excellent option for patients that would like to improve their appearance without invasive surgery such as a neck lift or facelift. The serum within these injections is one of the most effective ways to quickly and safely destroy fat molecules.

Double chins can occur for a number of different reasons, including weight fluctuations that have resulted in a visible pocket of fat below the chin and a loss of skin elasticity due to aging and damaged skin.

Most doctors suggest that Kybella is an excellent option for adult patients that are worried about submental fullness. Residents of Atlanta that would like to reduce the visibility of their double chin should contact Radiance Surgery & Aesthetic Medicine to see if these injections will help them meet their cosmetic goals.

To learn more about Kybella and how it might benefit you, contact Radiance Surgery & Aesthetic Medicine to schedule your consultation with renowned facial plastic surgeon Dr. C. Carson Huynh. We proudly extend our services to our communities in Atlanta and also the neighboring communities of Sandy Springs, Buckhead, Dunwoody, Alpharetta, Kennesaw, Roswell, Johns Creek, Duluth, Lawrenceville, Suwanee, Marietta, Brookhaven, and Cumming Georgia.

How Does Kybella Work?

Kybella is one of the most effective treatments in the world for double chins. These injections contain a serum that is made from various acids and other organic substances. The primary ingredient of these injections is a substance known as deoxycholic acid. This acid is an all-natural molecule that weakens the cell walls of fat and allows the body to break down the soft tissue.

Deoxycholic acid’s ability to quickly and safely weaken fat molecules is the reason Kybella has become one of the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatments for submental fullness.

Can Kybella Treat Submental Fullness?

Submental fullness is a medical term that is used to describe the accumulation of fat around a patient’s neck and chin. For most residents of Atlanta, submental fullness will begin to develop as they grow older, and their skin is no longer as toned and elastic as it was in the past. Other residents will begin to notice this cosmetic issue when they gain weight. Patients with a high body fat percentage have a much larger risk of developing a double chin.

In addition to weight fluctuations and loose folds of skin, double chins can also be the result of one’s genetics or the bone structure of their face. Unfortunately, this means that many patients will struggle with submental fullness regardless of how healthy they are.

How is Kybella Administered?

The average Kybella appointment takes no more than 15 to 20 minutes. Unlike surgeries that require multiple incisions and anesthesia, Kybella is administered in a series of injections carried out by Dr. Huynh. The injections sites are generally just under the chin in the largest pockets of fat. We understand just how hectic our patients’ lives can be, which is why we strive to work around your schedule. Dr. Huynh works closely alongside every patient to help them meet their cosmetic goals without making major changes to their schedule.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Most patients will need at least two appointments in order to see a change to their chin and jawline. Patients with severe submental fullness or stubborn pockets of fat might require four to six appointments before they see any results. Kybella appointments should be scheduled at least one month apart.

During & After Kybella Treatments

Due to the fact that this is a minimally invasive treatment, most patients have little or no downtime. The average individual can return to their regular daily activities within minutes of receiving their Kybella injections.

Over 20 different clinical trials were carried out to study the effects of Kybella before this treatment was approved by the FDA. Since Kybella was made available to the public, over 1,600 patients have received these injections and are now part of multiple ongoing studies.

During your initial consultation, you will need to speak with Dr. Huynh about your medical history. Anyone that has had previous cosmetic surgeries near the injection sites might need to have their treatment modified.

Patients that are pregnant, breastfeeding, or having difficulty swallowing should tell Dr. Huynh about these conditions before receiving Kybella injections.
