Why Choose Us for Facial Rejuvenation Surgery?
With the recent rise in popularity of Botox and dermal fillers, many patients have benefited from these aesthetic treatment modalities. However, these injectable treatments may not be the best or ideal treatment in the aging face. With more advanced facial aging changes, a comprehensive approach to facial rejuvenation is required to achieve the best results. Presence of the following findings may indicate that you show more advanced signs of aging:
- Deep forehead wrinkles which do not go away even with muscles relaxed
- Eye brows sagging and hooding over the upper eyelids
- Significant volume loss in the cheekbone area
- Presence of jowls along the jawline
- Deep set nasolabial folds
- Neck bands
Facial rejuvenation surgery refers to a number of procedures and treatments that improve your appearance by restoring a youthful look to your face and neck. With surgical rejuvenation, you can make dramatic changes or subtle enhancements, which may turn back your youthful appearance by as much as 10 to 15 years. Facial plastic surgery includes procedures that can manipulate muscle, connective tissue, fat, skin, and other aspects of your face.
At Radiance Surgery & Aesthetic Medicine, Dr. C. Carson Huynh and his staff are dedicated to finding the best aesthetic treatment for you. Our goal is to help our facial plastic surgery patients in Atlanta and beyond obtain maximum facial balance and harmony. To this end, we have adopted a three-step approach which resembles the process of construction of a house.
First, a foundation is built. This means making sure that the bone and cartilage of your face are shaped according to your desires. Sometimes this requires altering the bone structures (orthognathic surgery, cheek bone surgery), inserting facial implants to the cheeks or chin, or manipulating the shape of the nose or ears.
Next the “siding” is placed. This refers to the tissue beneath the skin of your face and neck. If the foundation is set, then the “siding” can be appropriately positioned. The tissue can be surgically relocated with either a brow lift, facelift, or neck lift or all three procedures simultaneously. Upper and lower eyelid surgery can also be considered as “siding” surgery.
Lastly, the “paint,” or skin, is addressed. In fact, skin maintenance is an important component to producing an attractive, youthful face. Common issues include sun damage, discoloration, and wrinkles. The extent of your skin issues will determine the recommended course of action. Our skin care options at Radiance Surgery & Aesthetic Medicine include special lotions, chemical peels, and laser resurfacing. Often, skin maintenance is the only kind of treatment we perform for many patients in Atlanta and Sandy Springs.
Facial Plastic Surgery for Ethnic Patients
In recent years, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) have seen an increase in cosmetic surgery for African Americans, Hispanics and Asian patients. Noting that cultural and ethnic perceptions of beauty can vary greatly, it is imperative to find a trusted and skilled surgeon experienced in addressing specific concerns associated with a range of diverse, anatomical features. Dr. Huynh has the experience and knowledge to successfully deliver excellent plastic surgery results to ethnic patients.
Some examples of ethnic concerns may include:
- Darker skin that is more prone to the development of noticeable or even raised skin scars during surgery. Dr. Huynh has the experience in successfully preventing such scars and keloids.
- Hyperpigmentation- a blotchy, unusual darkening of the skin that ethnic patients have a higher risk of developing. Dr. Huynh has experience in choosing and implementing the correct cosmetic procedure for each individual skin type. He also uses special caution with minimally invasive treatments such as Botox®, injectable fillers and chemical peels that can sometimes cause hyperpigmentation.
Dr. Huynh is one of the few cosmetic surgeons in the Atlanta area specializing in ethnic plastic surgery. He has a reputation for enhancing the facial features and beauty of his diverse patients, creating natural and subtle successful results.
